We think that you should make money with your bookmarks, not us. Register, add your AdsenseID and 80% of the revenue your bookmarks make is yours.
With registering at Infopirate.org you get an account with two main features:
- Create blog entries
- Create bookmarks
If you have a Google AdsenseID, you can add your ID to your profile and start earning 80% of the revenue your bookmarks and blog entries make.
Infopirate is highly optimized for search engines so your entries will rank high on result pages and you will receive alot of traffic. Due to the fact that you are not alone on Infopirate, traffic and visitors will also stop by because of entries with similar topics and then read your articles and click ads.
To simplify the bookmarking process we created a bookmarklet, read here how to use it.
If you own a blog or website and want to enable your readers to submit your entries to Infopirate, you will find service link buttons here.

Hey fellas at CM team,
Comments
New here
Found your site accidentially today and I have to say that it has a very nice approach. Playing around now, testing the bookmark feature. Very nice! You forget to explain that you could highlite text on a site and that its included automagicaly into the bookmark. Just like it has to be ;-)
Hi James
Thank you. You are welcome. I hope you will use it alot and have phun with it!
activity
I can't wait to see more people adding their bookmarks. Other than me I see others generate a lot of comments - does that help, too? What other ways one can help the site?
Yeah, me too!
Yo Basil,
thank you for being here and supporting the system. The comments help of cause and some of the computer and software support requests here have been commented with very helpful contents.
Right now we need more attention from the blogosphere. I decided to wait a little bit and see what happens.
So, if you would like to help this site, just spread the word and tell others about it. Thank you!
Blogosphere
What do you mean by the "attention from the blogosphere?"
Do you need more links from blogs? I can do that.
Yes, exactly
Yes, exactly. More links from blogs would be great.
Infopirate doesnt need thousands of Bookmarkers to work well. If we would just be a dozen active bookmarkers here it would be a lot of fun and the site concept would work.
More links and articles from blogs are the way to go.
Infopirate is a good way for bloggers to promote their content plus generating revenue with their bookmarked articles. I just dont want to go out, spam blogs and forums with links to Infopirate. I would love to see organic backlinks from people who really like our idea.
Helping, further:
I need to sort this fun task this way:
1. "More links and articles from blogs are the way to go."
i.e., we need more Bookmarks to blogs?
where would articles go - into Infopirate blog of each Infopirate user, or where?
2. I have a blog, which does not get traffic from having its bookmarks on social bookmarking sites. Maybe I am doing something wrong. Maybe Fark and Digg, which are snobbish, but I know of only one success case.
I am also a member on about 20 forums. My, and others' links there do not bring noticeable traffic.
Maybe blog-marking is it. Please elaborate on it. I am interested to help ourselves.
1. i.e., we need more
We need Blogs that link to Infopirate ;-) And bookmarks to blogs are welcome of course... I don't know if I get your question right (english is not my mother tongue), but if you write a blogpost here on Infopirate it goes to your personal blog here. When it's voted it appears on the frontpage. There is an overview too at http://infopirate.org/blog but the page is not linked yet. I may put a block with recent blog posts to the side navigation and/or a link to the "all blog posts" page if more people start blogging here.
I have good experinces with delicious, clipmarks and stumbleupon. Most of the time it's not "huge traffic", but it IS traffic. And sometimes people find your site at delicious & co., visit it and write something about it on their blog - that's what counts. With forum links I have the same experience you have. Just a few clicks, nothing to get excited about.
clicks
Just a thought - traffic to a blog still does not mean money. The visitors have to click on the ads. I see that Adsense pays for actual ad clicks. I have put Google recommendation ads in addition to the usual blog ads, all very visible, and they don't get clicked often.
Google recommendation ads
Google recommendation ads never performend well on my sites. Please send me your site URL via contact form, I'll have a look on your adsense and we'll see if they could be optimized.
Referral Ads, that's what they are
I see that the Referral ads report more impressions (a lot more) than the standard Adsense ad report per the same page. How could that be?
I don't see much action to ask this Q in the Adsense forum.
Referral Ads
Ah, I see. I tested the refferal ads but I was not satisfied... I don't know what causes the difference in impressions.
My feedback, by the way
I wanted to tell you that Infopirate structure still has no clearly defined clickable area for conversations like these we are having.
Does the section "Recent Comments" shows ALL the comments, i.e., the comments from the Infopirate blogs, the bookmark comments, and these conversation comments?
Also the View my Bookmarks is buggy. I checked it on various PCs, and various browsers, IE, Maxthon, Firefox -IE and Maxthon freeze for 2-3 minutes preparing the page with funny rectangles that have a bookmark or two in each. I don't see any use in these rectangles, after they maxed out the CPU.
Forefox seems to be the best to view and use the social bookmarking sites.
Just my 2 cents worth of input :-)
Thank you very much Bo
Great Feedback, thanks!
- Comments:
Yes, the Recent Comment block shows ALL the comments
- View Bookmarks:
I will check this out, thank you very much for your bug report!
View my bookmarks
Bo, I could'nt reproduce the "view my bookmarks" bug with IE 6.0.2900.2180 on PC with WinXP SP2. The rectangles contain links to your bookmarks, sorted by topics. One rectangle per topic.
BUT I found a nice IE bug that destroys the layout...
Hi, I think this is a great
Hi,
I think this is a great idea. I have added a lot of bookmarkds so far, about 7 pages. I would like to know how can we identify what part of our adsense income comes from Infopirate. Can we make a channel on adsense to watch it? Help please. I think you would get more attention if it was more clearly explained how to track the earnings.
Hey Javaman, thank you for
Hey Javaman, thank you for your comment!
Just add an URL channel to your Adsense account and you can track everything.
FYI: Infopirate.org will be completely relaunched this year - I know that I have a lot to do here ;-)
adsense channels
How would you keep track of it? What's the URL to be entered in the Adsense channel setup?
You really did not answer my
You really did not answer my question. What url would I use in the channel. Would it be a URL from infopirate.org? I am pretty new at using adsense so please pardon the questions? I guess I could make a groups channel for all the bookmarks I have to place and put under one name.
Sugguestions / Questions
Can you arrange that after a bookmark is completed the browswer window returns to the original page that was bookmarked? I ask that because the option to have the book mark open in a side bar - which is a super idea - does not work at this time. Until that works comletely, including the super benefit of picking up highlighted text, it is a hassle to not have the bookmark return to the original location.
Yeah
Enter
that will work!
Very good idea
Very good idea. Right now I really have a long task list though. I will see what I can do for you during the relaunch.
Forums -
You might take a look at hot www.hubpages.com handles there forum conversations. It is easy to follow and well liked by members.
Also another question. When you relaunch, will all bookmarks currently in place still be there?
Yes, all bookmarks, all user
Yes, all bookmarks, all user informations etc. will still be there.
Deletion of Duplicate Posts
some times a duplicate post is made when a first submit click is late and we click again. Is it possible for the person that submitted the duplicates to delete one of them. It would keep things more "spam free looking" and since they were accidental it is a shame if we get penalized for duplicates; which I believe google will do.
Adsense Ads - Where Are They
I did a google search on the FREE Coloring Pages - KungFu Panda and indeed Infopirate is right up there. But only one ad that I can see and not clear if that is from adsense. What is it that is supposed to generate revenue. There is lots of open space - should not some of that get filled by Google Adsense?
You can edit and delete your
You can edit and delete your posts by visiting the post itself (click on the headline) and then click the "edit" tab. I don't like duplicates too, but be sure that google will not penalize us for that, it will just chose one of the two entries for their results.
Ads are only shown to
Ads are only shown to anonymous visitors ;-) That prevents us from clicking our own ads accidentally. If you would like to check out the ads, log out and visit the page.
Adsense Ads
I tried your advice and still only see one adsense ad. Can you do a screen shot of one of my pages and send to me. I have tried three times and still only see one ad. Sorry.
How to Log out
I just tried again to see the infopirate version of one of my pages.
http://infopirate.org/bm_disneyland-advice-arrival-and-departures
I notice that all though I closed my browser I was still signed in.
How can I log out - I do not see a log in / log out link.
Hi Bo,
Hey Bo, Is there anyone running this train. I asked some questions and he seems to have disapeared? Is there anyone we can ask questions of?
Do you know how to determine if you are really getting revenue from bookmarks on info pirate? It seems that it has added to mine but hard to determine. The more we know the better job we can do to help each other. what do you think?
How do we refer someone to
How do we refer someone to infopirate? I see my referral code but it's not clear how to use it properly. Also, I have not seen "admin" signed in for a long time. Is this site running on it's own or is it still active and going to continue?
running the train, etc
You are right, it seems like the site is on an autopilot, and its main functions are working. I have no clue how to set up my Adsense to monitor clicks due to me on Infopirate.
The referral method could have been a little different, I don't remember.
Good luck,
B
A word from the captain
Hi pirates,
first I have to apologize for my low participation. I have been very busy during the last weeks with finalizing the version on the german mothership, http://infopirat.com . You may take a look there, even if you don't speak german to see how Infopirat.org will look in a few weeks. I will completely relaunch Infopirate.org - your bookmarks, blogs etc. will be kept, don't worry.
To answer a few of your questions:
- Adsense: Google Adsense has no problems with Revenue Sharing sites (there are more than 100 in the USA, and counting)
- Adsense Channels: To track your income, simply set up an "URL Channel" in your Google Adsense admin panel (not here on Infopirate).
- To use the referral URL, just copy and paste it to wherever you want.
- Any questions & feedback: Feel free to use http://infopirate.org/contact to contact me directly via email.
The next steps:
- Backup everything tonight (even though we backup everything every night regularly)
- Freeze the site (put it on "offline mode")
- Update the code, which will probably take longer than just one night
- Put site on online mode
- Translate what is not translated already (remember, the original code is in German)
- Bugfix
Thank you all for your patience!
See ya,
Fu

Done!
First part of my mission is completed. Just have to translate some stuff.
Adsense problem of javaman solved (it was a whitespace in the Adsense ID).
We have some new features and new navigation, the look is still the same, but which might change a little bit in the next weeks...
Give me your feedback here: http://infopirate.org/infopirate-makeover
Thank you!
