Windows Aero with ATI RADEON X1650 PRO ?????

I have just got an ATI RADEON X1650 PRO (AGP Version) for Windows Vista and my WEI scores for graphics are still under 2.0 which surely cant be right.

The website for the X1650 says it is fully Windows Vista and Aero compatible but because of my low score I cant turn it on. I also cant open Windows Movie maker or DVD Creator.

If anyone else has got this graphics card on Windows Vista or has had this problem can you post info here please, Thanks

n00b suggestion Aero/X1650

Stupid, I know... but have you installed the Catalyst drivers? For me, Vista worked w/out the drivers, but gave me a rating of 1.0 until I installed the drivers (I d/l the latest from AMD/ATi).
I'm guessing you already did that, but if you didn't, it might be worth a shot.

Try the Catalyst 7.8 driver.

Try the Catalyst 7.8 driver. I have the same card and Direct3D is dead in 7.10 and i think 7.9. in XP i just use NGO drivers, but they aren't out for vista yet.

Vista and DVD burning problems
This is driving me mad I want to burn a movie onto DVD and expected the new Vista to have the software as it is the Ultimate edition, so i thought i will buy that.. mistake, i hate microsoft..

Hi, does anyone have a printer that actually works with vista and if I may be so bold as to ask another question. - can you get rid of that annoying virtual scrolbar that is permanently attached to the pointer. I tried disabling the virtual scroll, but then it wouldn't scroll ata ll. many thanks

Aero Vista x Windows Explorer
Hi,

Has anyone noticed when you use Aero Vista some problems come up? In my case, when I used it, and open Windows Explorer, almost all the time, the Windows Explorer doesnt open, and reinitialize itself, and after Windows Explorer is closed. After too many times trying to open Windows Explorer, it opens normally. I need to use basic Vista.

Any clue to solve it using Aero?
