What is the advantage of a laptop over desktop? And can ya' have the Windows Vista system with it?

yes you can have vista on a laptop, the main thing is the portabilty of using a laptop, being able to take it with you, but you sacrifice on screen size, keyboard size, it is decision you must make, do you need to take it with you? do you like sitting in the back yard and connecting to the internet wirelessly?

Is it possible for a Toshiba laptop with Windows Vista LE Home version to communicate with a Gateway Desktop running Windows XP professional. I have a wireless router and can acess the internet fine but I can't get into my desktop with my laptop.

OK....

I have a desktop running XP that my printers are wired to. I have a Laptop running Vista that links to my desktop wirelessly. I CANNOT access my printers on the network via the Laptop. The drivers and the software are installed on the laptop for the printers. It keeps saying Access Denied. What am I doing wrong?
Font and Text Size Help
I recently upgraded my Dell M1210 laptop to Vista and even with XP I had to do a lot of tweaking to get the screen acceptable to my aging eyes, now I'm having a great deal of difficulty learning how to tweak all the things I had done in XP to make everything on the screen readable.

I've used the dell quickset to change the size of the icons and toolbars, but now the toolbars are huge and so are the icons.
Oh and yes, I've gone to view and changed text size, plus I've done the accessibility ignore font size on specific webpages. I tried changing the resolution to 120 dpi but whewee everything became so fuzzy it was horrible.
Windows XP on desktop PC, Vista on laptop? Networking ok?
Hello folks, hope you can help me. We currently have a desktop PC at home which runs Windows XP Pro. I have just bought myself a new laptop (HP Pavilion dv2000), which is also currently running XP. My new laptop however is eligible for a free upgrade to Windows Vista. I have been getting used to my new laptop over the past week and setting up my network, so that I can share media files from my desktop to my laptop (desktop PC wasn't powerful enough to do some video editing, which is why I bought the laptop). Will it be ok for me to upgrade my laptop to Vista, have my desktop running XP and still be able to share files and generally network my computers as normal?
