I have an intermittent problem. Several programs on my start menu won't start. The system hourglasses, and then - nothing. I found that if I can use the option 'run as administrator', that the programs will start. There is an option on the properties of the shortcut that would allow me to 'run as administrator', but that option is not enabled. For programs like excel, I have to use windows explorer to find the executable under program files, and 'run as administrator' there.
I find this a very frustrating performance with this operating system.
Is there any way to put the 'run as administrator option' for the shortcut.
For some reason, when I click the Start Menu and then before I click on "all programs" (most used program list), I click on a program and it doesn't open. Ever.
For example: I click on - Windows Live Messenger but it just doesn't load. It clicks, but it doesn't load. Nor does it appear to open any sort of process.
Same with iTunes, but yet programs such as Nero Vision work.
I can open Itunes and Windows live messenger by clicking on an icon that opens a song in itunes, or through the all programs tab.
Anybody have a clue why this is happening? Any fixes?
When I created my profile and first trained my voice etc, the VR software concluded by asking me if I wanted to search my documents. I said no at the time because I had no documents. Now, I would like to search my documents for keywords to add to my vocabulary, but I can not find how to initiate this search again! Even creating a new profile and training all over did not result in asking me to search my docs.
Does anyone know how I can start this search again?

I was happily creating a CD label maker worksheet in Excel 97 when I discovered that I could not record a macro. I selected Record Macro, named it, then pressed OK and received a message telling me that Excel was unable to record. I then opened a spreadsheet I had created under XP and found that all its macros worked. Do I need a driver or will I have to live without the ability to record macros?
