Hi - can someone help please.......
I had XP Pro installed on my C:\ drive, and I replaced it with RC1 of Vitsa, doing a clean install.
I've been given a formatted hard disk, connected up as my D:\ drive, and I'd like to reinstall XP Pro onto it, and be able to choose which OS I boot into.
However, when I insert the XP installation disk, I get the initial options menu, but when I select 'Install XP Professional', nothing at all happens.
If I swap the hard drives around, so that the PC boots into the new formatted drive, I get a message when booting up saying 'OS not found', and can get no further. This happens whether or not I boot up with the XP Installation disc in the drive.
My C:\ drive (with Vista) is a Seagate 160Mb, and the second drive is a WD 160Gb.
As far as I can tell, the BIOS is set to look at the DVD & CD drives first at boot up.
I've run a WD diagnostic check on the new hard disk, and it seems ok.
I don't have any other disks/floppys, and don't have a floppy disc drive
Sorry, but I'm not sure what other information you might need.
Can someone offer some help please?
Thanks
