Vista is setting some directories to read-only and won't let me change them

Hey all, newbie here

I'm having problems with Vista Home Premium. I'm trying to get my iPod to work properly, but when iTunes tries to synchronise it I get a message saying I do not have the necessary privelage to write to the "My Music" folder. Sure enough when I check the properties, it is set to read-only. When I try to remove read-only, it seems to work, but when I immediately check when it's finished it's back to read-only again.

Can anyone help?

Start menu not opening shortcuts
its really annoying guys, the program shortcuts that appear in the start menu are just unresponsive, i have to manually go to All Programs and click it there

does anybody get that too? maybe i need to reset the caching or shell.. ultimate upgrade sux
I will NEVER buy another OS from MS...
I bought XP OEM like 3 months ago and now it tell me to activate windows cause i got a diff burner and it told me my activation limit is over..WTF...
I thought it was only if i chang alot of my hardware..
