I'm new to the forum so hello!
I'm having various problems with Vista that I can't figure out how to resolve.
1. When clicking on a hyperlink in any office product it gives me the error "The operation has been cancelled due to restrictions in effect on this computer. Please contact your system administrator". Obviously I am the system administrator..... Anyway I thought it may have something to do with the UAC so turned it off which did not help. Then I thought it may be a restriction in a policy but couldn't find any with this restirction (there are a lot to look through so I may have missed it) but still having this problem. I had it when first using Vista then it stopped doing it and I could click any link and it would allow me to go to it but now its back and I have no idea what i changed to stop it in the first place nor why it is back! This also happens if I click a hyperlink in a Word document i.e. clicking a link to take you somewhere else in the document also brings up the same restriction.
2. I managed to get Adobe Reader onto my computer and got it installed but when it first runs it brings up and internet page asking you to accept the terms and conditions. Whne this page was brought up I got a dialogue box with a heading of " File Download - Security Warning" and the main body said ""Do you want to save this file or find a file online to open it?" followed by "Name: xxxxxxx (can't remeber the exact page name), Type: Unknown file type, From: ieframe.dlll" - If click find it takes you to this page http://shell.windows.com/fileassoc/mimeass...e=text%2Fhtmlll
If you click save the above page opens when you open it. THis problem happens using tabbed browsing too. When i click to open a new tab the above happens instead of taking me to my home page.
3.When using IE7 all anything that uses Flash seems to literally flash. Even using this website the backround flashes through the forum content when I scroll down a page etc. I have been reading about this in other forums and people have been putting it down to drivers not being ready for graphics cards. Just wondered if anyone could confirm this.
Sorry I've written so much I just like to give the full background so that others can see the circumstances in which it is happening.
Any help would be greatly appreciated as all the problems are really getting on my nerves!
