Infopirates collect, filter and tag current and particularly interesting information and news for you from the Internet.
Generally pirates do not like rules, however we cannot go without them completely. The Infopirate rules are called the "Infopirate Code of Ethics".
If you register to Infopirate then you agree to this code of ethics.
Infopirate Code of Ethics:
1. Good information is a valuable treasure, irrelevant to which topic or of which source, but pornos and discriminating contents have no place on a decent ship, aye!
2. A treasure can only really earn money if it is described correctly. That counts for the text as well as for pictures and topic tags. The better and more precisely the description, the more booty and more satisfied takers of our treasures.
3. A logbook (blog) entry or a bookmark never contains a complete article from another ship and always possesses an indication to the source and or a link to the captured ship. Everything else is completely godless and we do not want to mess with the gods for heavens sake, arrr!
4. A good Infopirate involves him or herself in the discussions and in answers questions (!) on the catptured ship. Old pirate rule:
Those who love their treasures takes care of them!
5. One user account should be enough - no multiple accounts!
6. Infopirates do not use the ship as a place to advertise, place commercial texts or links to pages without any content worth mentioning. The captain loves salt meat but deletes SPAM and uncalled for adverts without any explanation or warning.
7. A wise Infopirate knows that his or her treasures that are brought onto the ship stay on the ship even if he or she leaves the ship. He/she knows that the captain can always be contacted and then all existing personal data will be deleted forever.
8. The captain can always change and remove treasures without notice especially if the content is against the law. But usually the captain has something better to do (rum an canons) and would rather not be put in the situation to do so.
9. Everyone working on Infopirate.org, has the possibility to use its own Google Adsense ID. This gives him/her 80% of the treasure impressions to his/her Adsense account.
10. Adsense income can only go to your account as long as you have a user account on our ship. If you leave, or your account is deleted, then from this time on you lose your claim on the income.
If the ship should change course then the crew will inform you via an electronic message in a bottle.
