Annual Flowering Plants for Autumn in Southern States
Many gardeners tend to stay away from "annuals" because they don't like the idea of replanting them every year. That is unfortunate for several reasons. Quite a few annuals are hardy enough, especially for use in southern states, to last well into fall. Pinching of seed heads keeps them blooming full tilt until a hard freeze kills them off. The surprise about annuals actually is that some of them are so good at "planting themselves" by way of dropping their own seeds, that in southern states they are considered perennials.
