PHP Installation

Hi. I have just upgraded my PC to Windows Vista Business Edition. I did lots of research before the upgrade to ensure my software was compatible.

One thing I didn't look out for however, and am subsequently having problems with, is installing PHP. I first tried installing the installer program for the version that my host is running - version 4.3.1. This completely failed, giving lots of error messages and file cannot be found warnings. I thought it would probably be best if i tried the most up to date version - v 5.something.

Again this failed, but this time the errors bombed out the installation, and nothing was installed at all.

"save as picture" problem

Hi fellow members,

I am a newbie. I have a problem.
When I save picture files using IE7 using "save as picture", I choose a particular destination folder to save to.
But if I subsequently save the 2nd, 3rd, 4th file and so on , it don't remember which was the last folder saved to. That wastes time as I have to specify the folder again. That is bad.

In Win XP, when we continuously save files, it remembers which was the last folder we save to. That is good.
How do I make Win Vista to operate that way as in Win XP?

making $L - work or play?

Hi, Im doing a university research project on work in Second Life. Ive seen several comments that people feel LL are capitilising on users time to get content produced, subsequently creating a better product at very low cost to attract more members.

Basically Im trying to determine what satisfactions people get from investing their time in producing content for SL - whether for financial gain or social kudos. Its mainly a theoretical research project, but Im very interested in any feedback that SL users may have regarding online work activity.

Ive put together a short questionnaire to gather some simple anecdotal comments.
