GOM Player is simply fantastic, it works like a charm and has all the features that MPC had plus many more. It is fast, with all the shortcut keys and zooming functions you would wish for.

I have installed Vista home basic and every now and then there is something running in the background which I can't stop. It is going now. It is not a virus or spyware program but I can't locate what it is. Can anyone help please.

Whenever I run a system scan, it works for the most part. But then, when I'm just about done, it stops scanning. It shows up on the screen as if it's still working, but the number of scanned files just stops growing. I've come back to it numerous times to find that it is still on the same number. So, whenever I stop the scan, a message comes up asking me if I want to do this. I say yes, and it keeps scanning! I try closing the window, same thing happens. Eventually, I end up having to end the process.

Now, this morning, the status changed. It said that some things "need attention." I click on "fix now," and it begins trying to install updates. This is where I'm really stuck: every time I try to do this, it successfully downloads the updates, but fails to install them.

Whenever I use IE 7 and close the window, there is another window still open that says about:blank in the URL bar. The window will not close and I must use Task Manager to close it. I am sure that I have no viruses or spyware. I run Spy Sweeper and it doesn't find anything. Firefox runs with no problems. Have any others had this problem? What is the fix? Thanks for any help.

Everytime I go to a website i get a popup asking me do i wanna allow programs such as Active X to run.It is extremely annoying and i have scanned for spyware with both Lavasoft Ad-Aware and Spybot Search and Destroy.I have also Scanned for viruses with Mcaffee Security Center.The Browsers its happening for on my system are IE7 and Avant.I dont have these problems when i use Firefox or Opera.Any help would be greatly appreciated,especially since I wondering if anyone else had these problems,Thanx in advance
