OK so I wanted to install Bionicle Heroes on Vista. I read in the readme that it WILL install DirectX 9.0c and you cannot stop it from doing so and it won't work without it. My Dad thinks it's gonna kill the PC and we will have to install Vista all over again. He thinks that because in the first week of getting our new PC, something weird happened to the system and it broke. I don't know what broke it. He thinks it was DirectX 9.0c broke it. Now he won't let me install Bionicle Heroes 'cos he think it will happen again. I know for sure that DirectX 9.0c didn't kill the system 'cos I read on other forums it is perfectly safe to install it on Vista and it won't get rid of DirectX 10.

Vista comes with DiectX 10, my question is... If I install a game that installs DirectX 9 will, that overwrite DirectX 10?

Ok, im going to be getting a new pc and i NEED to have a directx 10 gpu, at current there are only the 8800 serious, which if no others are going to be released within the next 3 months then ill have to get them, but i'd love it if there was a mid range directx 10 gpu coming out, does anyone know of any other directx 10 cards coming out, thanks!

I have installed Vista Ultimate, Areo will not work on my machine. I went through the help panels & it says I need a DIRECTX 9 video card......I have been told I have am DIRECTX 10 card & that should work...can anyone be of assistance? thanks gord
