Germany will not participate in EU proposals for airports to use full-body scanner security checks, which have raised privacy issues, its interior ministry said on Friday.

"I can tell you in all clarity that we will not take part in this nonsense," a spokeswoman for the interior ministry told a regular news conference.

The executive European Commission proposed last month to add body scanners to a list of security measures that can be used at airports in the 27-country bloc.

HELP PLEASE! I just recently bought a new computer with Windows Vista. We kept our old printer and now we cant use the scanner!!!:mad: (or the fax part). Does anybody know what I can do to get this working?! :confused:

I upgraded to VISTA Ultimate from XP Pro on my computer, now everytime I boot the Windows installer starts to run, it terminates itself after about 5 or six attempts but everytime I bood it does the same thing.

Initially it was looking for an old MSI (Scan.MSI) that was from the installation of a scanner a LONG time ago, I think I was still using XP Home at the time. It would even stop and ask me to insert a CD. I no longer have the scanner or software with that MSI. I searched the registry and removed all references to that particular MSI, now instead of pausing and asking for a cd the installer just stars to run and terminates 5 or 6 times on boot. Since I only reboot my computer about once a day this is an annoyance, more than anything, since it only occurs on a cold boot, but I still would like to get it resolved.

No drivers for windows vista for my things until atleast May, and I need to use my scanner etc. now. Would like to put Win XP pro on this puter but need to know how to do it.

Dos anyone know how to turn off the usb power in Hybrid Sleep on a desktop computer ?
I will use the usb to manege external power consumers like printer and scanner with a power saver

I have a Canon Printer and Scanner but neither will work properly in vista as new drivers are not ready. any clues ?
