OK so I wanted to install Bionicle Heroes on Vista. I read in the readme that it WILL install DirectX 9.0c and you cannot stop it from doing so and it won't work without it. My Dad thinks it's gonna kill the PC and we will have to install Vista all over again. He thinks that because in the first week of getting our new PC, something weird happened to the system and it broke. I don't know what broke it. He thinks it was DirectX 9.0c broke it. Now he won't let me install Bionicle Heroes 'cos he think it will happen again. I know for sure that DirectX 9.0c didn't kill the system 'cos I read on other forums it is perfectly safe to install it on Vista and it won't get rid of DirectX 10. I also know Bionicle Heroes even has a Vista hardware requirements rating! Why would they do that if they know it will kill your PC?! All I need from you guys is your experiences with installing DirectX 9.0c on Vista. Help me prove my Dad wrong so I can play this game!

I doubt it, I had to
I doubt it, I had to overwrite the dx10 stuff with the dx9.0c to get the dx10 demo (Lost Planet) to work. That was successfull, but now anything that touches directDrax or directSound triggers BSoD Crash.
DONT DO IT!
