I just recently moved for an internship this summer. I ended up driving out and decided to take my desktop computer with me. As soon as I got to my destination I set everything up and realized that my sound was not working.

I do not have a sound card I was just using the unboard sound from my Intel DG965WH motherboad. I messed around with it a little... Tried uninstalling the driver and reinstalling it. When I right click the sound icon in the system tray and select the playback devices it lists a Digital Output Device that says "Working", and Speakers that say "Not Plugged In". Whenever I play music or anything the mixer for the Digital Output Device moves like the music is playing but there is absolutely no sound.

It says in their documentation and on their website that it works under Vista flawlessly, as the BDA support is a built in feature, so i've followed the instructions (a rareity) to the letter and the whole process goes how its described, but the drivers are still not installed and it is listed as an unknown device in device manager.

i've tried to get it going myself to no avail, downloaded all the latest drivers i'm pretty much at a loss now!

any ideas would be greatly recieved.

I have an external mass storage device containing a 60 gig hard drive. :up: This "caddy" by Belkin has an ON/OFF switch as well as the usual USB connection. :p If I reboot the PC with the unit ON, the whole thing freezes and won't start up....
