Even if you mostly use your PSP for gaming, why ignore its potential for other things? Transferring audio, image, and video files to your PSP's memory stick using a USB cable is a snap, and will let you listen to music or podcasts on the go, show your vacation snapshots to your coworkers, or watch the latest movie trailers downloaded from the web.

* UMDNot counting homebrew games, the PSP currently only plays games on UMDs (Universal Media Discs). Sony plans a PlayStation emulator for the PSP, which might be able to play game ROMs off a Memory Stick.
Whether you want to show off your own video work, or watch the latest anime video trailers on the go, being able to transfer video to your PSP is a useful thing. If you can can turn on your PSP and navigate the home menu, you can transfer video files.
Even though the PSP is mainly a gaming machine, it also makes a great portable music player. You won't be able to fit your whole music collection on a single Memory Stick (though they get bigger and cheaper every day), but you can easily switch to new music once you know how to transfer the files.
How cool would it be to be able to play old Nintendo or Sega games on your PSP? Well, if you can find the game ROMs, you can play them, thanks to the PlayStation Portable homebrew community. I have ran into a strange problem. When attempting to print a picture I can only see the printer that is set up as the default printer. I have 2 printers listed below. I have the HP 990 set as default because I don't print a lot of pictures, but like to use the HP 8250 just for pictures. Most, but not all of the other pic programs let me select what printer I want to use, but not Paint Shop Pro XI, and a few other higher end picture programs. Like I said, I'll just pick on PSP, it only lists the printer set as the default printer. To change it I have to close PSP go into the printers setup, make the change, then restart PSP. This is not a good option as I might have done a lot of changes to a picture before I notice that I can't print to the HP 8250, and to change printers I would lose all editing.
