I have an intermittent problem. Several programs on my start menu won't start. The system hourglasses, and then - nothing. I found that if I can use the option 'run as administrator', that the programs will start. There is an option on the properties of the shortcut that would allow me to 'run as administrator', but that option is not enabled. For programs like excel, I have to use windows explorer to find the executable under program files, and 'run as administrator' there.

I find this a very frustrating performance with this operating system.

Is there any way to put the 'run as administrator option' for the shortcut. My id is an administrator, so I don't know why I have to add this privilege to invoke a program. is there any other way to fix this problem?
