Upon Installing Windows Vista, I was getting the "Blue Screen of Death" and it would only appear for half a second. I could not workout why vista would not complete the installation until i got a glimpse of the blue screen before the sytem rebooted.. Apparently, there is a problem with the ATI driver that vista shipped. So, What i did was, replace the graphic card with an old one, and I could complete the installation that way. If you are having the same problem, follow the steps below:
Replace ATI Graphic Card before Vista Installation. Install Vista Do a Windows Update When Installation is complete.

Since upgrading to vista the audio driver will not install. I know it's a compatibility problem with the hp conexant AC97 media driver. Hp claim that they will not support the upgrades of all the zd8000 series. Do anyone have a solution to the problem?
I'm doing a dual boot with XP and Vista. I've installed Vista twice now, and each time the Windows Explorer crashes. The first time first the Gadget bar went, and then the Explorer. Each time Explorer crashes, I get a long error message concerning a DLL with the letters GDI in it (can't remember the full name, unfortunately). Once that happens, I have to shut the computer down with the power button, and then Vista won't reboot. It gets to the point where the mouse shows on a black screen for maybe a second, and then it crashes and reboots again.
I logged the boot process, and booting ended after loading the "monitor.sys" file. The first time I was running MS's driver for the Radeon X300. The next time I was running the Beta drivers from ATI. And after the second crash, the system had to run a chkdsk on the Vista partition.
i installed my realtek hd audio driver acl861 its in my device manager, but says there is no audio output installed. This is the device status Windows cannot load the device driver for this hardware. The driver may be corrupted or missing. (Code 39). Any solutions to the problem.
