Hi guys I recently purchased a new HP Pavilion laptop which came with Vista Home Premium and I have been having constant drop outs and connection problems with my laptop and wireless billion modem/router (BIPAC-743GE). My connection strength is never above 60% - Always on Good connection, never goes up to Very Good or Excellent - my old Laptop which had Windows XP always had Very Good and Excellent connections. It also never had drop outs.

What I mean by 'drop outs', is that after a period of time being connected to the modem/router, my laptop will disconnect (not entirely) from the modem/router and I end up with a Limited Connection (Local Only). This happens after being connected for only 2 hours or so *the time varies every now and then* When I try to disconnect from the modem/router and try to reconnect, my laptop cannot find any wireless connections until I actually restart the laptop. Also, I am using the HP Wireless Assistant which came preinstalled.

I have a serious problem installing vista business. During installation expanding files 21%
(directly after first reboot) I get the following error message: "Windows cannot
install required files. Network problems may be preventing Windows from
accessing the file. Make sure the computer is connected to the network and
restart the installation. Error code: 0x80070005"

I've tried following without any succes:
*running Windows Vista Upgrade Advisor, said there should be n problem.
*staying connected to network (and internet) during installation.

Hi everyone,
I set up a wireless network at home with 2 notebooks. The access point router linksys WRT54G is set according to the instructions and DHCP ip addresses option was enabled.

First notebook with XP OS connects always without problems, but the second one with Vista OS connects only with router's configuration web site 192.168.1.1, and when I check the connection on Network&Sharing Center the line between the router and Internet is marked with a red cross.
Diagnose gives me response "There may be a problem with your Domain Name Server (DNS) configuration"
In Properties menu TCP/IP vs4 , IP address is set to automatically, only default gateway is set in advanced options as 192.168.1.1 , and DNS is set with the numbers provided by my ISP.

Well, i've used Vista Business on my laptop since Late november(volume license ) and like it werry mutch, so i baught another license for Business(don't want home premium cause it miss IIS, while ultimate got way to manny features)
Then i ran Upgrade advisor on xp to see what i should get drivers for(i did't want to upgrade it), at first when i boot vista it recognizes the wifi, but i can't connect, so i install the drivers, and reboot. But then it dosen't show any wiki, only my regular lan card.

Hi. I have a laptop MSI M670 with a Geforce Go 6100 (vista 32bit). I installed every drivers, even for the motherboard but I have a strange issue where I am not able to see videos/divx/avi because WMP says "there is a problem with your video card", this problem is also afflicting screensavers, because they don't work at all, just a blank screen when they start. And vista's included games they just show a white window and then stop responding so I need to close the window.
