Music is DRM-free, from 59p a track, £3 an album
Amazon has finally launched its DRM-free music store in the UK, with over 3 million tunes to choose from already online.
Amazon's MP3 files are encoded at 256Kbps and tracks cost from a mere 59p, with entire albums costing you anything from £3 and up.

The latest rumor in the “never going to happen” realm is that MySpace, the massive social network for tweeners and stalkers, plans to develop their very own digital music player. MySpace recently launched a digital music service creatively called “MySpace Music” that is aiming to the the best one-stop for music fans. While it is too young to determine if this service will reach its goal, or for that matter become profitable at all, being embedded in one of the most trafficked websites on the planet isn’t a bad place to start.

It supports a number of popular encoding formats, including LAME for MP3 and the eponymous Bonk audio, and by installing WinAmp's decoding libraries you can convert files from any format supported by the popular player. It will interface with CDDB to make sure album and track information is included in the output files when ripping CDs, assuming you're online, and will even create playlists from discs and folders.
