Does anyone know if all the great freeware that worked so well with XP such as Ad-Aware SE, Spywarebalaster, Hijack This work with Vista? If not, is there a similar freeware programs made for Vista?

I installed VISTA Ultimate in my PC.I tried to play movies in VLC player...when i tried the fullscreen view many tiny rectangular boxes are seen..the quality is vrey bad..but the movie worked well in Windows EMdia Player..i have installed the latest NVIDIA driver and K-Lite Mega Codec Pack...Are u having this problem in VLC?

Whenever i try to play videos i have downloaded which worked on my old p.c. (which used X.P.) all they show is a black screen and the audio. This has happened so far to three of the four vidoes i have downloaded. I know these videos work from past experiance, and i have used media player classic, quicktime (which just said error) divx, and windows media player. They all have the same problem. Can some one help me.

Can anyone recomend a decent media player that will play AVI movie files with Vista please?

I've tried Windows Media Player but it's having none of it. I've also tried Real Player, VLC Player and DivX Player and they're not playing ball either.

Any suggestions?
