Why is it that when I try to install certain applications in Vista Ultimate (32) they tell me I require admin rights to install them when I am the administrator and already have full admin rights?? In the past, most applications that were built for a prior version of windows, still tend to work in a newer version (for example win 2000 apps can work in win XP), albeit sometimes they can be flakey but they still work, and in some/most of the cases that the apps haven't been installing for me because of "improper admin rights", it's due to the fact that the app was made for XP not vista, but when I ran the Vista upgrade advisor in XP before upgrading to Vista, there were no known issues with the software I am now having issues with since the upgrade!!

I ccannot get the Windows Upgrade Advisor to run on one of my P4 3.2 machines running XP Pro. The error I get is:
"Fatal Execution Engine Error" (0x7927e03e). If I click on ok, I get:
"Application has generated an exception that cannot be handled" Process id= 0xf18(3864), Thread id= 0xe7c

I'm pretty sure this PC can be upgraded to Vista (video card is nVidia FX 5950 Ultra), but I wanted to run the advisor to make sure. I think it may have to do with the visual runtime and/or

I want to get Vista, Ive run the "Windows Upgrade Advisor" and it says i am able to "Upgrade" to Vista, But i dont understand the 2 copys that around out, "Full Version" and "Upgrade" - Can i buy an upgrade copy to upgrade from XP? or do i need the Full Version?
