I'm having problems with my dvd drive.. I managed to install vista with no problems, but actually once vista is installed, I can't read neither DVDs nor CDs.. it gives me an error saying "I/O device error 0x8007045D".. I can read fine cd-rw though.. The DVD drive is a OEM LG, "HL-DT-ST GWA4083B".. it works perfectly with windows XP... Is there some way for fixing this problem?

I/O device error 0x8007045D
Hi
I was having same error on my HP DVD Writer 640b. I started getting 0x8007045D error, after upgrading from XP to Vist Home Premium.
Finally I could solve it by un-checking the Enable DMA flag, for the ATA Channel (IDE ATA/ATAI Controllers ... Advanced Settings tab) that was being used by my DVD Drive. Try if that works for you.
where do you go to un-check
where do you go to un-check the stuff?
RE:I/O device error 0x8007045D
This applicable if you have a ATA DVD Drive
Go to Device Manager
Expand the "IDE/ATA ATAPI Controllers" node.
Select the ATA Channel that is used by your DVD Drive.
Select Properties... and goto Advanced Settings Tab
Uncheck Enable DMA option and apply the changes.
Hope this helps
