Who else is getting more and more of this? I'm finding that I'm getting one or two a day at this point, and I suspect that the numbers are only going to go up.

It would be nice if LL would be proactive about this and start doing something about it *before* it gets bad, but I seriously, seriously doubt that they will if their response to griefing issues in the past is anything to go by.

I think I'm going to start naming and shaming the marginally legitimate businesses that spam me with group invites when I've never met them or had anything to do with them before in the future, so that people who want to can avoid doing business with spammers.

As I've said before, I also have a feeling that it's not going to be all that long until someone rewrites the open source client to turn it into an IM or group spam blaster. Which ought to be all kinds of fun to deal with.

Generally, I think we can thank LL's hands-off, "We're like the web, we don't get involved in user disputes!' attitudes if it does come to that.

(And it will, there's not a single medium yet that the spammers *haven't* gone after.)

This will *not* end well.
