World of Goo's developers decided to release the game without any DRM, a welcome move for those of us irritated by punishments for legitimate users. How did that work out for them? Not so well. According to Joystiq, 90% of installations are pirated. World of Goo was developed by Ron Carmel and Kyle Gabler, and Carmel claims to have seen one torrent with 500 seeders and 300 leechers.

Nearly 25 years after the first film, "Ghostbusters" is finally coming to a video game console near you. The cult classic is being developed into an interactive game by Atari, the company officially announced Friday. It will be made available for five systems -- the Nintendo DS, Nintendo Wii, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 2, and Xbox 360 -- and will also be developed into a PC version for Windows. All will become available sometime in 2009.
When the original Gears of War landed back in 2006, it proved to be the first true killer app for the Xbox 360 and has remained one of the platform's best titles. Not only was Gears of War an excellent commercial for the Unreal Engine 3, it turned out to be a smash hit and quickly defined the Xbox 360 as the premiere console for online shooters. Epic's generational debut was a stunning game, visually breathtaking, and packed to the gills with some explosive, action-packed gameplay and a few neat gameplay tricks.
