Error message during installation

I have a Sony VAIO laptop (VGN-C190P) and received the express upgrade kit for Windows Vista Business. I inserted the CD, followed the instructions and proceeded to install. After the BIOS was updated it took me to a screen where it said installation files were being copied; it was not actually installing Vista yet. Every time, at the exact same place, I received an error message that read "an unknown error has occured while searching for an unnamed file." The title bar read, "irsetup." I reset the BIOS to factory defaults and tried again but nothing changed. Every time I try, I get the same error message at the exact same place and the process does not go any farther. HELP!

Sony = worthless junk

I'm getting this, too. This Sony Vaio (VGN-790P) has been nothing but trouble - Sony makes the WORST junk I have ever seen and I will never buy another of their systems.

Has anybody found a way to resolve this issue?

I have a serious problem installing vista business. During installation expanding files 21%
(directly after first reboot) I get the following error message: "Windows cannot
install required files. Network problems may be preventing Windows from
accessing the file. Make sure the computer is connected to the network and

I've tried following without any succes:
*running Windows Vista Upgrade Advisor, said there should be n problem.
*staying connected to network (and internet) during installation.
Cannot read or delete a mail message
I have one message that is in my inbox. When I click on it I get what looks like a browser error in the message body. Whatever, it was not an important email address. However when I try to delete the message I get a pop error message "An unknown error has occurred". It will not delete. I know it may be OCD but I can't stand having this one message always in my inbox with out being able to read or delete it. Has anyone experienced this? Any suggestions?

Vista problems.
OK, I've just build my new computer. Installed Vista Home Premium, but I keep getting this error message when installing drivers and stuff:

"The instruction at 0x7402319c reference memory at 0x7402319c. The required data was not placed into memory because of an I/O error status of 0xc000000e. Click OK to terminate the program."

I get several copies of that message, one for explorer.exe, sidebar.exe and a few other things. Under them is another message:

"An error (-5006:0x08000ffff) has occured while running the setup."

If I ctrl+alt+delete, I get another error message:

Running Vista Business 32-bit - clean install about a month ago. Now trying to upgrade Adobe Creative Suite 2 to CS3 the installer runs for 5 minutes and installs only "Shared Components" - everything else fails to install. Now CS3 is theoretically Vista-compatible - indeed Adobe says it is the first version they've released that is supposed to be Vista-compatible (one reason I upgraded - CS2 has some Vista quirks).

After 3 days of working this error with Adobe it appears that the problem lies with Vista and/or the MSI Vista interaction. The log files from the failed installation indicate Error 1935 - An error occurred during the installation of assembly 'Microsoft.VC80.CRT,version="8.0.50727.163",type="win32",publicKeyToken="1fc8b3b9a1e18e3b".
installation problems
Hi
I have a Western Digital 320GB hard drive. I partitioned of 50GB. I have Windows Vista Ultimate x86. It gets to the 4th stage(installing updates) then it comes up with the error "Windows could not prepare the computer to boot into the next phase of installation. To install windows restart the installation."

What can I possible do. I have ran the advisor and it says my PC is compatible and I have quite a high spec PC. I have updated the bios and rebooted it to factory setting but it still doesn't work. Please help.
