Just bought a new computer today. It came with Windows Vista Home Premium.When I turn it on, it gives me this error message then restarts. I've been looking around online and can't seem to find a way to fix it.The computer restarted unexpectedly...

OK, I've just build my new computer. Installed Vista Home Premium, but I keep getting this error message when installing drivers and stuff:

"The instruction at 0x7402319c reference memory at 0x7402319c. The required data was not placed into memory because of an I/O error status of 0xc000000e. Click OK to terminate the program."

I get several copies of that message, one for explorer.exe, sidebar.exe and a few other things. Under them is another message:

"An error (-5006:0x08000ffff) has occured while running the setup."

If I ctrl+alt+delete, I get another error message:

I have a Sony VAIO laptop (VGN-C190P) and received the express upgrade kit for Windows Vista Business. I inserted the CD, followed the instructions and proceeded to install. After the BIOS was updated it took me to a screen where it said installation files were being copied; it was not actually installing Vista yet. Every time, at the exact same place, I received an error message that read "an unknown error has occured while searching for an unnamed file." The title bar read, "irsetup." I reset the BIOS to factory defaults and tried again but nothing changed. Every time I try, I get the same error message at the exact same place and the process does not go any farther.

I just installed windows vista and downloaded the newest catalyst drivers from atis site.
So i started to install the drivers and everything went smoothly, after the installition i got a message that "drivers were succesfully installed" and then i rebooted my computer and when i got back to desktop i get a ati error message as following "Ati drivers not found or they arent working properly"
I tryed 2 sets of 7.2 catalyst eng version and multi.
Anyone got any ideas what's wrong?

Hello folks, hope you can help me. We currently have a desktop PC at home which runs Windows XP Pro. I have just bought myself a new laptop (HP Pavilion dv2000), which is also currently running XP. My new laptop however is eligible for a free upgrade to Windows Vista. I have been getting used to my new laptop over the past week and setting up my network, so that I can share media files from my desktop to my laptop (desktop PC wasn't powerful enough to do some video editing, which is why I bought the laptop). Will it be ok for me to upgrade my laptop to Vista, have my desktop running XP and still be able to share files and generally network my computers as normal?
