Hi there, first off let me say I'm sorry I wasnt sure which forum to post this in.

Recently I installed Adobe After Effects 7 on my new Vista machine. It seems to run just fine until I attempt to import a file to the program.
It then brings up an error saying "After Effects: Out of memory. (1k requested) (23 :: 40)"
I have 2GB of DDR2 Ram, when Im running After Effects my pc says there is about 1.6GB of RAM free.

Any ideas why this might not be working?
Any help would be brillant

I just installed 2GB of RAM into my laptop from 512 the other day, things seemed to run fine, then I started getting some type of "MOM.implementation file not found" message when starting up Vista. Now, any video or sound files (movies, mp3s, etc. )...

Don't ask... but I've managed to compress the partition of my HD with my Vista install on (by checking the little box on the HD properties in Vista). So now whenever I try and boot up I get an error message saying
"BOOTMGR Compressed, press Ctrl+Alt+Del to restart"

I've already tried the stuff a google search brings up ie:

Win Vista DVD > Command Prompt>
C:
expand bootmgr temp
attrib bootmgr -s -r -h
del bootmgr
ren temp bootmgr
attrib bootmgr -a +s +r +h

But I still get the error after i've done that. I've tried doing that for every archived file in the C: root directory and that still doesn't help. I've downloaded Hirens Boot CD and tried a load of tools on there (including zeroing my MBR and then getting windows vista to fix it with its auto-repair feature) and i still get the same message!

I have searched the deepest darkest forums of the internet trying to find out how to fix my situation, I have found people with the same problem but none of the solutions that have worked for them have worked for me. I searched this forum for an...

Easiest Windows upgrade I have ever had. Fine for a few days then I found TweakVI through Microsoft Vista site.
Downloaded, installed, set restore pt and then ran it. Vista hung on "log off."
Next morning log off still on screen (w occasional disk activity).
Powered off and restarted.
Uninstalled TweakIV and tried to restore. Restore failed and earlier restore point failed.
Visited faqs on www.totalidea.com, searched google and Help&Support. Found no answer.
Set up chkdsk /f and tried to reboot. Vista hung again. Powered-off and restarted. Chkdsk found corrupted mft and "volume bitmap is incorrect" After run with chkdsk /f subsequent chkdsk did not find any problems.
