Hello everyone............I just ordered a copy of Windows Vista Home Premium Upgrade. I think I am going to get an external hard drive to backup my current Windows XP Home. I have never done this before so I had a few questions.

I have a 100 GB Hard Drive on my laptop. I am using 50 GB, and have 50 GB free. If I backup everything on my computer now to my new external hard drive, which will probably be a 100 GB, will that keep windows xp, and everything just like it is on my computer?

If I don't happen to like Vista on my laptop, can I just plug the external hard drive in to my laptop and reload XP and my software programs, files, and settings?

Hi.

I just tested out the Backup and Restore, I don't mean the Complete PC Backup image just the file backup.
Then I deleted a folder and restored it from a backup I've done before but certain files where missing.
Important files in this case because the folder I restored was one where I got a complete website in it and all the javascript files were not present after the restore.
Is there a way to specify which files are included in a backup and which are not?
I'm not sure but I think I've seen something before but can't find it anymore or I just remeber it the wrong way alltogether.
