Thursday is National Boss Day — perhaps the least recognized of all the (Hallmark) holidays.

But in observance of the date, especially in light of the current financial crisis, it might be a good day to limit time spent gossiping (about the boss) at the water cooler, trade those sneakers in for some polished dress shoes and work an extra hour or two to make that deadline. Or, just buy a Boss Day card.

Hallmark (which did not create the holiday) sells 90 National Boss Day Cards. One of Hallmark.com’s free e-cards pictures a cartoon dog with the caption “You’re top dog.”
