I have Windows XP Home Edition installed on one 40Gb partition (D) and I have Windows Vista Home Premium Edition installed on another 40Gb partition ©. I select what OS to boot up on the boot manager. I want to delete windows xp and merge the 40Gb partition from that into the 40Gb vista partition to make 80Gb. I have been told that If I just format the xp partition and merge it into the Vista partition then my boot manager will malfunction and I wont even be able to boot up vista then. Can someone clarify my position here as I want to do it the sooner the better?

I have a little problem.

I have a partition "D:" with 2GB free, and I have the C: partition where I installed Windows Vista.

The problem that I have is that the partition D: is the active partition where Windows Vista Boot Manager is installed, and I want to erase D: and only boot from the c: Drive. Turing c: to my active partition.

How do I remove the Vista Boot Manager from the D: partition and re-install it to the C: drive, on the same partition where Vista is installed.

also, Is there any tool that can make it easier ?

I was running XP and Vista in Dual boot (XP was on first) and I used Paragon Partiton Manager to delete the partition that XP was on, because I am happy with Vista, but now, when I boot, my computer tells me that it cannot boot from the drive, I have full access to all the files as I am now running UBUNTU in live CD, please help me!

I had windows xp in one partition of my hdd and I decided to install vista in another partition of the same drive.Vista didn't gave me a 2nd option after installing them and I run EasyBCD to inform Windows Boot Manager that there is an xp operating system in drive d: (vista are in drive c:).
Indeed I was presented with a second boot option but that 2nd option doesnt work.I get the message :

Windows Boot Manager

Windows Failed to start

A recent hardware or software change might be the cause

I used this to reinstall my boot manager and now when i hit Windows XP its says the NTDLR directory is not found....... so.... I installed Xp right and it ran the first time.
