Been using Grissoft AVG Free and now get the notice that they are discontinuing a free version in January.

So do I bite the bullet and pay for antivirus software or are there some good free alternatives still out there?

I planned to buy Panda Antivirus 2007 for my new Vista computer, and does it has any limitation? Like the product expire after 1 year, or I can use it forever, but only 1 year free update?
