I have a problem with my firefox browser after updating it today.

Server not found Firefox can't find the server at example.com.
* Check the address for typing errors such asww.example.com instead ofwww.example.com
* If you are unable to load any pages, check your computer's networkconnection.
* If your computer or network is protected by a firewall or proxy, make sure that Firefox is permitted to access the Web.

Anyone with a solution?

Solution

Rename firefox.exe to firefox1.exe.

Firefox and Remote Desktop poop
After many days trying to get Firefox pages to load I started using Remote Desktop to access my client servers and noticed things seem to hang when accessing anything outside the local network. Also my Smart FTP program hangs when trying to transfer files!!

I tested these issues on 2 new desktops with Vista installed and the same issues happen. The first issue seems to be with the Firefox web browser surfing sites. It loads half the page then hangs.

The second issue is with Remote Desktop. It works perfectly on a local network but when I try to connect to a remote server it loads about 1/3 of the desktop then hangs.

Firefox 3Previously I was using Firefox 2 and was happy with its performance. Then I downloaded the latest version Firefox 3.0 on world download day. More than 22 million downloads are done till now. Earlier I used to tweak my browser to optimize it for the best performance. Now I am experimenting with the optimization tricks on the latest version. I am sharing them with you here. However I am a little disappointed with the extension compatibilities of the latest version. I guess I will need to re-install most of the extensions I was using with the earlier version.
Firefox can't find website
I'm new to Vista. I use Firefox as my browser. With some frequency when trying to connect to a website, a window opens to say the site cannot be found, and then a second later the site sought comes up.What's going on here? Is there a firefox...
Default Browser in Vista
Every time I open Firefox in Vista it asks if I want to make it my default browser, and I say yes. It seems to me that Windows security won't let me change my default browser. I have Firefox set as the default browser for the start menu too. What do I have to do to make Firefox and not IE7 my default browser? thanks
trouble wtih firefox
I have installed firefox version 2.003 (the latest).
the firefox screen starts flickering and this happens only within the firefox. I tried uninstall it then install it again -- no joy. then i again unistalled it and did a search of all folders and registry keys and deleted them. again no joy.
anyone who can help me.
another related problem is that flash movies refuse to play come what may how many times i try to install the shockwave player. any suggestions??
