Rudolf Schlechter (1872-1925) a german botanist was Orchidaceae (orchids) specialist and curator at the Botanical Museum Berlin.

The Hoya parasitica Wallich ex Wight 1830,

is native to Thailand, Malaysia and Indonesia.

The beautiful waxflower Hoya lobbii Hooker f. 1883
has been named by the English botanist Joseph Dalton Hooker (1817 %u2013 1911)
in honour to its discoverer
