For Sale: Baby Shoes, Never Worn.- This is a short story by Ernest Hemingway, perhaps written to settle a bar bet or perhaps written as a challenge, even before our thisisby.us existed but in any case it's an absolute gem, a complete work of fiction that shows the total genius of Hemmingway the man and the writer. It's a piece of writing I think about a lot, and it's one of my favorites. It's evocative, powerful and clocking in at six words, it proves that it's not necessary to blather on endlessly to tell a good story.

Hannah has to write a short story for her English class, and we've been working on her proposal for the story. We've gone through the first draft, and she refuses to believe that she needs another draft. This is the second one.
