A simple and useful beginner's guide to interactive fiction and adventure games. Many text adventure games start with their character - you - in an unlikely situation and without any indication as to what to do next. That's part of the fun, surely!

Interesting, engrossing, addictive website. (Aren't they all?) The Let’s Play Archive maintains a list of hundreds of “Let’s Play” games, where somebody plays through a video game while maintaining a journal using text, screenshots and videos. Some are funny, while other’s just give you a whirlwind tour of a game you’ve never played before. Sounds dumb?

Every day, we walk past people in the streets without having the slightest clue that they are homeless because they do not fit the stereotypical image. Even of those that do fit the common-held image, you simply cannot tell by looking at them what past contribution to society they may have made or what contribution they may be capable of producing in the future.

We’re just a few days from our annual Halloween pilgrimage to Disneyworld and I’m getting a little antsy. I’m not sure if writing about Disney is helping time go by more quickly or grinding it to a halt, but either way, this was a fun topic to research.
