Dr. Theodore Seuss Geisel was an American writer and cartoonist. He published over five dozen famously popular books for children. He stressed simple short words and wildly imaginative, yet loveable, characters in all of his books. His style of writing was also unusual for books intended for children and introduced many children to multi-syllabic rhyming. Some of his most famous and popular books include Green Eggs and Ham, The Cat in the Hat, and One Fish Two Fish Red Fish Blue Fish.
