Flin Flon, Manitoba gained worldwide attention in 2002 when it became the site of a government approved marijuana farm. The legalized farm produces around 400 kg of medicine each year in an underground copper and zinc drift. If you happen to travel to this area of Manitoba, I wouldn’t get my hopes up for a tour offering free samples. Sadly, when the globe focuses on this historic event, they missed out on a lot of the unique scenery and attractions the area has to offer.

The legendary Sasquatch has been frequently spotted in the Interlake region of Manitoba, Canada as well as Northern Ontario. On July 22, 2008, a group of women had gone berry picking out in the forested region when a giant furry creature started to approach the two. The ladies were used to being out in the area and were completely certain it wasn’t a bear or a moose. They were frightened and immediately returned back to Grassy Narrows. When they returned to the site a short time later, they found a massive footprint that closely resembled a human foot!

Who knew the Canadian prairies were so scary! Other places have cemeteries, scary houses on a hill, or buildings that others have created to be scary. Not in the prairies though. Nope. No way! The number of real ghosts, ghost trains, and even haunted hotels will leave you with goose bumps. Here is a very short list of some of the scariest places in the country.

I should begin by saying that all of Canada is a great, hospitable place to visit. Because of the size of Canada most tourists will head for the bigger cities for the sights. Be forewarned though that Canada's best features are in its natural beauty. That is why my Top-Ten might seem unorthedox, but if you've been to any of these places you will agree that these are Canada's Top-Ten Best Places to Visit.
