Great new service for searching comments and commenters on the web: Backtype.com.

BackType is a service that lets you find, follow and share comments from across the web. Whenever you write a comment with a link to your website, BackType attributes it to you. We give comment authors a profile featuring all the comments they've written on the Internet. If you don't have a website to use when you fill out comment forms, sign up and use one of ours.

FriendFeed Comments is a plugin for Movable Type that enables you to import and display comments made using FriendFeed on your entries. You can also use the plugin to enable your blog commenter to "Cc." their comments to FriendFeed (if they have a FriendFeed account).

A couple of weeks ago we were looking into how to modify the feed on Blogging Tips to include the author’s URL in with their post. There are plenty of plugins that allow you to add additional comments to the end or beginning of the content, but no obvious way to edit the author line that appears under the post title.

Most bloggers on a multi author blog often have their own individual blog, so being able to not just credit them but also provide a link direct to their site from the feed is a great way to give more exposure to the blogger.
