On 20 February 2007 Mercedes-Benz sets up its own representation in the online world at Second Life. On the Mercedes-Benz “island” in the upmarket South West district the Second Life inhabitants can visit the new showroom, and in the future will be able to experience cars on the Mercedes-Benz virtual test track.

Obnoxiously over the top is an understated way to describe this Mercedes McLaren SLR dressed head to toe in chrome (including chrome-tinted glass) as it causes a scene outside the Mall of the Emirates in Dubai. Although this driver has a license plate number so high we'd assume it belonged to a pauper, we know it takes some serious scratch to buy an SLR, but can only imagine the price tag necessary to go ahead and chrome the living daylights out of it.

So when Porsche adds major new technology to their most famous car, aficionados take notice. The 2009 model gets not one significant push forward but two.

The Texas lemon law is an automobile law that helps consumers who buy or lease new vehicles and have repeated problems get their vehicles properly repaired, repurchased, or replaced. The lemon law applies to cars, trucks, SUVs, vans, motorcycles, motor homes, all-terrain vehicles and tow-able recreational vehicles. It does not apply to used, program cars, or repossessed vehicles.

Sometimes, long-term cars arrive with little input from staff as to what options we might enjoy. Some automakers are more accommodating and allow us to build the exact car we want. Porsche is one of those. So when it came time to order a long-term Boxster S, we pored over roughly 15 pages of options and came up with a Boxster S that is the equivalent of a custom-made suit. Unfortunately, some off-the-rack staffers found the idea of a $79,075 Boxster to be wretched excess.
