I've been on SL for a while and I'm wanting to do more in SL than just interact lately. So I'm thinking of ways to start a business. I have tried making shapes, skins, clothes, and I'm just not that creative. So now I'm staring to think maybe just buying some land and building a mall and renting spaces. It does, however seem so very generic and "done to death." Should I bother? I have about L35k I'd be willing to spend, but of course, I'd like to get that back relatively soon. I don't want to just blow all my money, but I'm not also necessarily looking for enough income to supplement my RL.I think I kind of just want something different to do. Kind of a SL hobby if you will. What do you think?Aldar Hartunian
Hi. I'm Nico. I currently teach students for the film/music/multimedia in business management/promotion. I would like them to try their business ideas in SL. I'm an SL newbie and desparately need orientation and contacts. I have budding (and established) film makers, DJs, audio engineers, 3D designers/animators. My aim is to get them to set up a virtual business and promote their works in SL and hopefully they can make a few bucks. But the main aim is they learn something. Anyway this forum looks very helpful so I'm gonna browse a lot. If anyone has any advise for me I would be eternally grateful.
In what was clearly one of the most shocking deceptions of the Olympics opening ceremonies in Beijing, the national anthem singer was replaced with a “cuter”, younger lip sync artist. Yang Peiyi was actually pre-recorded singing the anthem, but was apparently not attractive enough for the ceremonies and did not meet their standards of “perfection.” Supposedly, it was her teeth that did her in. Chinese officials explained that they wanted the perfect performance - the perfect voice and the perfect look. Perhaps we should forgive Milli Vanilli as well?
