Hi

I have a HP Pavilion dv6137tx (dv6000t series) notebook computer running Windows XP Home Premium Edition (clean install over Windows XP Media Center Edition). By default, the integrated web camera is not recognized by Windows Vista so I have to install the firmware update for the camera, after which it does work in Vista but when I restart the computer, I get a blue screen error for the following file:

r5u870flx.sys

The only way out of this is to start Safe Mode with Command Prompt and rename the two files r5u870flx86.sys and r5u870fux86.sys in c:\windows\system32\drivers\ to r5u870flx86.sys.old and r5u870fux86.sys.old. The system then boots normally.

Upon Installing Windows Vista, I was getting the "Blue Screen of Death" and it would only appear for half a second. I could not workout why vista would not complete the installation until i got a glimpse of the blue screen before the sytem rebooted.. Apparently, there is a problem with the ATI driver that vista shipped. So, What i did was, replace the graphic card with an old one, and I could complete the installation that way. If you are having the same problem, follow the steps below:

Replace ATI Graphic Card before Vista Installation.
Install Vista
Do a Windows Update When Installation is complete.

When i got to certain websites such as myspace, my computer will blue screen and restart itself. i was wondering what would be causing something like this? As of right now i have noticed that this only happens with myspace.

I am having problem with my ATI mobility 9700, i have a laptop LG-LP60 with ATI mobility 9700 128 meg dedicated, i tried both catalyst 7.1 and 7.2 for vista 32 bit, without any results, when i installed those drivers everything is extremely slow, even mouse, i checked configuration my graphic card properties show that my adapter have 383 meg !!! 128 meg dedicated and 255 meg shared i dont know how the driver get that info, i tired to modify hardware acceleration but the button was grayed and it says that hardware manufacture dont allow to change it!!! i can see Aero using this driver but i did not enable it because the system was unstable, so i tried the one i have from LG for XP, my laptop is back fast but without Aero, and all performance rating regarding my graphics are low, and i am having blue screen when i try to make laptop sleep or hibernate !!!
