I just bought BattleField 2142 the other day and I installed it. I got the latest version of the patch too. I played the game as administrator and every thing was going fine. Then I got a message on the bottom of the screen 10 mins into the online game that had to do with PunkBuster. So Punk Buster kicked me from the server.
I went into the properties of BattleField 2142 and changed its compatibility to Windows XP Service Pack 2. I then went to play the game as administrator and a message poped up saying "Please ensure Battlefield 2142 Install Disk is in the drive, select Ok and restart the application."
The disk was already in the driver...
What do I do now? How can this be fixed?

Same here
I have the same problem where the disk is in the drive and I get the same message about inserting it into the drive while its already in there =/..
More or less the same here,
More or less the same here, only i've been playing fine for three months untill three days ago. I am running on vista, tiring, and played right clicking as an administrator.
Punkbuster killed my server connections after 1sec or 2 min playing for no specific reason, the message "punkbuster" appearing briefly after being disconnected. I downloaded an update for punkbuster on evenbalance.com with a nice testing facility that told me everything was fine, i downloaded the updated client for BF2142, and tried to replay. Since then there is like a disk error. It reads and runs autorun upon insertion of the disk, and when i start the game the disk is not being recognised anymore. You hear it make a read error sound, three times, and then the same message appears. Strange enough, the disk stayed in the pc for nearly all the time. It has a nearly mint condition
