Business use for more expressive avatars

Thu, 2007-03-08 17:27 - Topics:

Hi everyone Do you think Second Life for business purposes could do with even better expressive/responsive/socalliy intelligent avatars. There is a very interesting survey that we are using for our study on this topic. for example, when an internal corporate training is going on, the colleagues will acknowledge each other in a different way than they would if these were strangers. We want to study what do Second Life residents think about these expressive-ness and personality traits strengths of their avatars, for business use. SurveyMonkey.com - The easiest way to create online surveys. (http://www.surveymonkey.com/s.asp?u=62803445512)It's a simple 2-3 minute survey. It will be a huge help if you help us fill it up: Thanks so very muchBest RegardsGaurav

Next Fad in SL?

Tue, 2007-03-06 15:08 - Topics:

I believe the idea of having avatars wear walking ads and getting paid comparable camp chair rates is going to be the next fad in SL...As with any economy, SL has maybe 90% of its population as the kind fit for low-wage low-responsibility work. Basically: camping chair occupiers.Camping chair occupiers are often inconvenienced when their friend sends them a TP request (for example), and they can't move from the chair or risk losing the precious discrete-interval dollars that are about to roll over. The idea of having avatars "wear" camping chairs, thus making them portable would fix the problem. But, the purpose of camping chairs is to increase the visitor count of a venue... but... portable camping chairs can also be used for... walking, talking, idiosyncratic ADVERTISEMENT!The 10%, who own significant businesses, are all vying to get to the 90%, and thus, are always seeking advertisement opportunities that will increase exposure. This idea seems to benefit both groups. Just saw it being implemented today, and thought you might want to check it out, too: Image: http://www.sluniverse.com/snapshots/146620.jpg http://www.sluniverse.com/pics/pic.aspx?id=146620&sort=Pictures.PictureI...

Referral/Viral Marketing Better in SL then in RL

Fri, 2007-03-02 23:49 - Topics:

A majority of real life companies have "refer-a-friend" deals that are a very low cost way to acquire new customers. In SL, referral deals are even more effective due to the ease of communication between avatars and the viral aspect of SL. MutualWin for free aggregates the referral deals that are available and adds a new element. It encourages charities to become the "referrer", giving companies both a new method to acquire customers while helping non-profits.Questions?[Removed for spam]
