Apple’s App Store is currently experiencing a plague of fart applications. Last week, I detailed one day in which at least 14 new fart apps were accepted into the store. And now, just in a quick search, it looks like there are about 50 apps all dedicated to making fart noises on your iPhone or iPod touch.
Since the App Store got ratings a few months ago, it was only a matter of time before the first Rated M game popped up. Well, that time is now.

I don't claim any special insight or wisdom here, but having spent more than the purchase price of my iPhone in the iTunes Apps Store over the last five months, this is what works for me.
It's been four months almost to the day since iPhone 2.0 came, and we've been hitting the App Store hard every week ever since to sift through what's new in iPhone App land. This week, we've decided to hold back for a second, take a breath, and compile a different kind of list: the apps that many of us on staff actually use on a regular basis. If you have a new iPhone or iTouch just waiting to be filled up, or you feel like you may be missing some essentials in your collection, this is the list for you.
If you have an iPod Touch, then you know the benefit of finding apps that work offline. But some iPhone owners, too, need offline access from time-to-time. Maybe you spend your commute in an underground subway or perhaps your office building has shoddy cell coverage, or maybe you just want to use your iPhone on a plane...whatever the reason, offline access to apps is still a necessary evil these days.
Not to worry, though, lack of a signal doesn't mean you have to put your iPhone (or iPod) away - there are plenty of apps today that work offline. Here are some of our favorites.

Before I went the final step and got vista ultimate, i remember reading that you could have the media center software running on the tv while using the monitor to use the pc normally (assuming the computer has enough grunt).
Now it's all working nice, except whenever media center is loaded the mouse is disabled on the monitor meaning it's impossible to use any other apps, and if anything manages to take the focus off the media center app (running on the tv) the remote (hauppauge thing run by the IR software) stops working, presumably because it doesn't know what it's supposed to be controlling?
