Hello there!

I've been using the Vista RC1, thus using the Windows Mail application as the e-mail client.

I switched back to XP Home, using Outlook Express 6 for e-mail.

Can anybody tell me how to convert existing Windows Mail messages back to Outlook Express 6?

I've been searching the web and MS support pages quite intensively, however didn't found a solution. Everything takes the other direction,
i.e. OE6->WM. What I was able to do so far was to export messages from Vista's Windows Mail to *.eml files. However, I can't find a way how to load all the plenty folders and messages back to OE6. Drag&Dropping them creates just a new message to be sent (the files are appended as an attachment), the File->Import menu in OE6 doesn't seem to offer the posibility to import separate files. In case I went the wrong way, I can still access the WM in Vista RC1 and repeat some conversion process).

I'm trying to get Outlook Express mail into a Vista's Windows Mail and I can't find a straight-forward document on this anywhere.Now what?

I'm trying to move my email messages and contacts from my old Windows XP computer (Outlook Express 6) to my new Windows Vista Home Premium computer (Windows Mail)

When I select Import in Windows Mail, I get the message "Either there is no default mail client or or the current mail client cannot fulfil the messaging request. Please run Microsoft Outlook and set it as the default mail client"
I set Outlook to default on starting, however Vista still appears to think Windows Mail is the default when I look in Set Default Programs.

Basically all I want to use Outlook 2000 for, is to import mail and address book from my XP environment (where I used Outlook2000, and also Olutlook Express), then I keep Windows Mail. As it stands, I cannot import into either program so am scuppered!

I find outlook express capable of having hotmail, gmail etc while the Vista. does not. Also I can't send to groups of emails with Vista the way I did
