i used Acronis Disk Director to create a 20GB FAT32 partition (in order to dual boot win98)

which appeared to be successful, until i rebooted, when it refused to load windows and said i should reboot with the vista disk in my DVD drive to repair the install

it did not successfully and i conclued i needed to reinstall windows

reinstalling vista was very quick and painless

however when booting i get a black screen giving me two options:

1. windows vista
2. windows vitsa (repaired)

choosing 2. gets me to the same error screen, so it is a useless option

I have a problem. I am trying to install Vista, but when I insert my CD and press any key to boot, when the installer displays the Vista background (just before you click 'Install Now'), it just stays on that screen, doesn't give me a install now button??

What can I do?

Hi - can someone help please.......

I had XP Pro installed on my C:\ drive, and I replaced it with RC1 of Vitsa, doing a clean install.

I've been given a formatted hard disk, connected up as my D:\ drive, and I'd like to reinstall XP Pro onto it, and be able to choose which OS I boot into.

However, when I insert the XP installation disk, I get the initial options menu, but when I select 'Install XP Professional', nothing at all happens.

If I swap the hard drives around, so that the PC boots into the new formatted drive, I get a message when booting up saying 'OS not found', and can get no further. This happens whether or not I boot up with the XP Installation disc in the drive.

I must say after installing Windows Vista last night with no problems whatso ever that it is amazing, it runs as smooth as XP did and the boot up times are a lot quicker than XP too.

I'm using Avast with no issues and also managed to install my Office 2003 which was very good...

Also got STEAM runnin with my games and no issues at all so it's all good and my new card (that I got wit vista) (X-FI Fatal1ty Professional Extreme) works a dream with it...
