Just like it says. I got Vista Ultimate today, installed it, then went to install my Maxtor One Touch III USB 2.0 since all of the drivers for my hardware is on there. At first it didnt detect the drive, then I turned the drive off and back on, then it detected it. Windows installed the driver for the backup drive and I was good to go. I got to install one thing off of the drive, I had to reinstall my computer after that. When my computer came back on the dirve wouldnt connect again. I dont get it? Its like Vista has something that is blocking the hard drive. The maxtor program says their is no drive connected when their is. Thanks in advance.

Same issue - can't find the solution!
I also have a Maxtor external, which my Vista machine saw perfectly fine until last week when suddenly I was receiving 0x8007045D I/O errors, and NOW the computer doesn't see the drive... including iTunes (all my music is stored on the external!)
I've been all over the Net, looking for the solution. None of them work. So frustrating! The drive works perfectly with my old XP laptop.
