I have all of these darn Active X add-ons on my IE7 and I was just wondering, first of all, if any one of them could be causing problems with the Sound card. I'm getting squelches, static and noises from my speakers sometimes when I surf. I'm also...

Uninstall add-on?

Hi all,

I have installed an add-on (actually, an activex) in Internet Explorer. The installed add-on does not appear in the 'uninstall or change a program' form.
In 'C:\Windows\Downloaded Program Files' I see the object, but right clicking it only gives me the 'properties' option (In XP there is also a 'remove' option).

I am logged in as administrator and installed the add-on in the same user session where I want to delete it.

Does anyone know how to remove this add-on from my pc?

Thanks

You probably have one of the several video codec malware infections that are prevalent on the web these days. Considering the nature of the problem, I recommend that you follow CastleCops' Malware Removal and Prevention procedure, a new system CastleCops devised to enable users to either partially, or fully clean their systems without the direct aid of an expert.

You will find the Malware Removal and Prevention Procedure here:
