my acer orbi cam is giving me an error message saying the orbicam application has stopped working pls i need help i have tried re installing it but dat doesnt seem to work, it works for sometime then its stops working again . can any one help me ?

Yep - you're not the only one with this problem. Did you install MSN Messenger Live, and hence the eDataSecurity update from Acer? Since I've installed these mine's stopped working too, but I cannot find where the Acer update is...bit of a bummer, eh? I'm going to contact Acer for more info on this.....

After several weeks of waiting and complaining that they weren't taking this issue seriously I got the following back from them:
Now, it's important to note that I'm running mine on an Acer 9302 laptop so this may not work for everyone. Good luck though....!! FYI, the cam WILL work if you log on as someone who is NOT an Admin user so all is not lost.

had the same problem but was easily fixed open c drive,windows programes,bison cam when you open this you create a shortcut on this file

omg this worked, literally remove all pics [except the sample pics folder] from the pictures folder, put them in a new folder, and my orbicam software now opens and doesn't give me the error saying it stopped

Orbicam not working
I tried to move all my pictures out except for "sample pictures" but when I click on orbicam now, nothing happens. Nothing pops up. It used to do the "This has stopped working" error but now it clocks for a minute and then nothing appears. Help!!!! I miss my camera!

2. dl, install update
3. learn GridVista, already install in machine
4. when use webcam chat use 3 panel grid. one I.M. one OrbiCam. one MyPictures. each easy for to see, access.

If you're having problems
If you're having problems with your Acer Orbi Cam (ie. getting error messages) you can solve it by deleting (or moving) everything that's in your 'My Pictures' folder to another destination and then restarting. I had this problem and after transferring my pictures everything was back to normal.

I'll be the 1st to admit that I was skeptical about doing this, but as soon as I took all the pictures out and placed in a new folder, my cam came right up. Thanks, this really did save me a trip of having to send my computer away for awhile to get fixed. I've only had this computer 2 months and now I am completely satisfied.

My webcam would not work for a long time. I kept getting a message that it was a problem by Acer. I looked into the properties of the web cam and found a relationship between it working and my computor picture file being full. I emptied my picture file and to my surprise the web cam started working. Try it, maybe it will work for you too.
